Euler’s Formula:
e^ix = cosx + i*sinx

Therefor:
e^(i*pi) = cos(pi) + i*sin(pi)
e^(i*pi) = -1 + i * 0
e^(i*pi) = -1

Also, the first symbols are e^ pi * i, where i = sqrt(-1).
